A LONG THOUGHT

ON TRUST IN LIFE

My trust is trust in life. My trust is trust in the immutable, incorruptible laws of life. Everything can happen in life, at any time, anywhere. When I have gained trust in life, I can bear the hardest blows that destiny deals.

My hope is knowledge of the law and certainty that good will overcome some time. The only mistake is to give up. There are no hopeless situations, only hopeless people. My hope is staying power that never gives up.

My exercise is the will to unity. I strive to do the right as far as I see. That affords me an inner security that always helps me through difficulties in life. I do my utmost, and then I trust the assistance of Augoeides. Then I am on the right path and am guided by my Augoeides, even though I am not aware of it. Then I can be certain that it is best as happens, even if I do not understand it until afterwards.

I have no other enemy than fear, the traitor that paralyses and blinds us. I know that “nothing will be as good as you hope, nothing as bad as you fear”. I do not bereave myself of the composure I have by fighting “disasters” in beforehand. I do not enlarge disasters by concentrating on them.

I have nothing to worry about. I am well cared for if I just use the offers of life. Augoeides does what he can to guide my development, and all the Augoeides cooperate in helping. I realize that it is my own fault if I prefer living by appearances instead of in reality. I only need to leave appearances and enter into reality, into community with Augoeides.

I refrain from all expectations in life, all demands on people or on circumstances. I ponder the fact that, in the worlds of man, there is nothing that holds to build anything on. That is a very hard lesson, though necessary for me. The only thing remaining is trust in the laws of the life and in my Augoeides. It is his very task to teach me that trust.

I do not worry about my “spiritual status”. Augoeides takes care of that matter. I follow the “light” I have and then I develop in the most efficient way.

How could I be other than humble when I have once seen that everything is given to me by the powers of destiny, by Augoeides, the tool of destiny, and that my misery is self-inflicted? If I defy life and the wise counsels of higher powers, I just demonstrate that there is still something lacking in my knowledge of life and in my qualities of life. Then it is my task to grow more in knowledge and being.

I have trust in the great cosmic organization, which guarantees the consciousness development of all individuals in all forms of nature in all kingdoms. I ponder the fact that the whole cosmos is one continuous and ongoing process of development for every atom in the cosmos.

I develop by having experiences and learning from them. I make many mistakes, since I lack a knowledge of reality, life, and the laws of life, lack the power of realizing the ideals. But I learn through my experience and only through it. I learn by making mistakes, by gradually overcoming all illusions and fictions. Mistakes are unavoidable, and I need not grieve at them, nor should even do so, for it is by making them that I develop. One incarnation is like a day in a very long life. There are no “misspent lives”, even if it may appear so, for the lessons learnt in them are the most thorough and the ones to teach us the most. A fault, a negative quality I realize to be hostile to life, is half overcome by me. A positive quality that I appreciate can grow into an ever stronger power within me.

I need not see to have trust. It is great to be faithful in that which is least, and life rewards every trouble a thousandfold, even if I do not see it. But I trust in the unseen powers that fight for all who desire the right. Those elder brothers who have studied their own and other people’s series of incarnations can unanimously affirm an absolute trust in life. Their Augoeides have proved their sovereignty by teaching their protégés precisely what was necessary for them to acquire qualities and abilities, to attain ever higher stages of development. The Augoeides have demonstrated their omnipotence in the worlds of man by often being able to pilot individuals through the most “hopeless” incarnations unto the ultimate triumph, however abortive it appeared.

My Augoeides: Lead me from unreality to reality, lead me from darkness to light, lead me from death to immortality.
